Lucky lady learns of $80,000 MULTI-WIN LOTTO win while running errands

One lucky lady's quick stop for lip balm earned her much more than that – $80,000 more after she learned she had the October 28, 2005, MULTI-WIN LOTTO top prize winning ticket in her possession! The winner, a 44-year old woman from Wilmington, used a Quick Check at a Lottery Retailer after purchasing her lip balm and was shocked to learn of her win. "We were screaming and yelling 'WOO HOO' in the store," she told Lottery Officials. Her winning ticket was purchased at TJ's Food Mart in Wilmington. The winner was awarded a check for $60,078 which represents her prize minus federal taxes. And though she had no plans at the time for her winnings, one thing she does plan to do is continue to play MULTI-WIN LOTTO in the future. Congratulations!

Regular Lottery player cashes in on $64,020 MULTI-WIN LOTTO top prize

After calling the Delaware Lottery 800-number to check the winning numbers for the Wednesday, November 16, 2005, drawing, a regular MULTI-WIN LOTTO player from Marydel was shocked to learn of her big win. The winning lady, "in her fifties," claimed her $64,020 MULTI-WIN LOTTO top prize the day after the drawing. She purchased her winning ticket at Doris' Market in Marydel with numbers picked by Quick Pick. The winner was presented a check for $48,015 which represents the prize amount minus federal taxes. She shared her plan to pay bills with her winnings. "I just couldn't believe it," she instinctively told Lottery Officials. Well, we believe it and congratulate our newest winner!

Two lucky winners are first to win $200,000 prizes with the new, bigger and better POWERBALL®

Two $200,000 prizes have been awarded to winners from the September 24th and October 5th POWERBALL® drawings. The winner from the September 24, 2005 drawing was a 47-year old man who purchased his ticket from Naamans Beverage Mart, Inc. in Claymont. He purchased four tickets for this drawing with numbers he selected at random. The lucky man's wife checked the tickets at another Lottery Retailer and found that he had won $200,000. He plans to pay bills and invest with his winnings. The other $200,000 prize, from the October 5, 2005 drawing, was claimed by a young couple from Georgetown. The couple purchased their winning ticket from Delaware Cigarette & Tobacco Outlet in Delmar, which also consisted of numbers the winners selected at random. After calling the Delaware Lottery hotline to find out they had won, the two revealed they plan to split the prize amount and pay bills. The winners for both drawings were awarded a check for $150,000 which represents the $200,000 prize minus federal taxes. After catching the winning feeling, all winners report they plan to continue playing POWERBALL® for more chances to win! Congratulations to all!

Three second-chance Grand Prize winners meet NASCAR® legend Rusty Wallace

Three lucky Grand Prize winners got the chance to meet NASCAR® NEXTEL Cup Series driver Rusty Wallace at the Dover race on September 25, 2005. The unique opportunity to meet the legend was part of the "MEET RUSTY WALLACE" second-chance drawing promotion and consisted of three separate drawings for the general public, Players Club members, and Delaware Lottery Retailers. Dick Kirkland of Dover, general public winner; Linda Ciach of Elsmere Players Club winner; and winning Retailer Marvin's Market located in Selbyville, Del. were each awarded a Grand Prize of a private meeting session with driver Rusty Wallace, VIP garage tour, pit passes and tickets to the NASCAR® NEXTEL Cup Series Race for themselves and a guest. In addition to the Grand Prize, other prize levels awarded included five First Prizes of two pit passes and tickets to the NASCAR® NEXTEL Cup Series Race, 10 Second Prizes of two tickets to the NASCAR Busch Series Race, and 20 Third Prizes of a Dover International Speedway official gift pack.

Woman claims 5th MULTI-WIN LOTTO jackpot prize

A 58-year-old Sussex County woman claimed a $98,100 jackpot prize from the Friday, August 26, 2005 MULTI-WIN LOTTO drawing. After having her ticket validated at the Delaware Lottery Office in Dover, she was awarded a check for $73,575 which represents her $98,100 prize minus federal taxes. The MULTI-WIN LOTTO winner learned of her win after reading the Sunday newspaper. Her winning ticket was purchased from Packman's Discount Cigarette Outlet located in Seaford, Del.

Two winners score big Instant Game prizes during two hot weeks in August

Two winners walked away with BIG Instant Game top prizes! A 38-year-old man from Frostproof, FL claimed a $20,000 MEGA MONEY Instant Game prize on Monday, August 15, 2005. The $10 Instant Game ticket was purchased from First Stop in Laurel. The other winner, a 64-year-old man from Lincoln, Del., claimed a $50,000 MONEY MONEY MONEY Instant Game prize on Wednesday, August 24, 2005. The $20 Instant Game ticket was purchased from Delmar Liquors in Delmar, Del.

$100,000 POWERBALL® prize awarded to frequent player

A 70-year-old Wilmington man won a $100,000 prize from the Saturday August 6, 2005 POWERBALL® drawing. The winner purchased his ticket, generated by Quick Pick, from Books and Tobacco, Inc. on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington. He told Lottery Officials that he plays POWERBALL® as often as he can. He learned he was a winner when he returned to Books and Tobacco, Inc. to purchase additional lottery tickets and checked his ticket for the August 6th drawing after seeing a sign in the store announcing their winning ticket sale. The big winner was awarded a check for $75,000 which represents his $100,000 prize minus federal taxes. He told Lottery Officials that he plans to save the money.

George Ganat of Wilmington and his family will be playing lots of PAC-MAN®!

George Ganat of Wilmington took home the Grand Prize in the PAC-MAN™ CASH Instant Game second-chance drawing. He won an arcade game with the original PAC-MAN®, Ms. PAC-MAN®, and Galaga® games, all in one monitor unit from Namco® valued at $3,000! Ganat said he is looking forward to adding the arcade game to his playroom for his children and grandchildren to enjoy when they come to visit. Ganat is a regular lottery player who said, "I've won with the Delaware Lottery several times." "I was a second-chance drawing winner of a prize pack in the TABASCO Instant Game last year and I won $1,000 on another Instant Game ticket a month ago."

Winners Score Hot Summer Prizes in MULTI-WIN LOTTO Drawing

Mickey Price from Lewes won a cool $1,000 in cash! She was the grand prize winner in our MULTI-WIN LOTTO Hot Summer Deals promotion held during June. Mickey purchased her winning ticket at Shore Stop #254 in Lewes. Players sent in non-winning MULTI-WIN LOTTO tickets for chances to win. A $250 cash prize second-chance drawing for Players Club members was awarded to Linda Richardson of Wilmington, who purchased her winning ticket at 7-11 Naamans in Wilmington. The MULTI-WIN LOTTO Hot Summer Deals drawing also featured a pair of Delaware Lottery Summer Prize Packs that included a 12-pack cooler, half-gallon beverage container and a Delaware Lottery beach towel, playing cards and visor. The prize packs were awarded to Linda Ciach, of Wilmington who purchased her winning ticket at Boxwood Books in Wilmington and Richard Treat, of Newark who purchased his winning ticket at 896 Liquors in Newark. Ten other second-chance drawing winners and ten other Players Club drawing winners received special edition MULTI-WIN LOTTO t-shirts.

Good Fortune Leads to a $500,000 POWERBALL® Prize

A Chinese fortune cookie has brought good fortune in the form of a $500,000 POWERBALL® prize to one lucky Wilmington resident. The 58-year-old man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, was awarded a check for $375,000 which represents the $500,000 prize minus federal taxes from the June 15, 2005 drawing. He and his wife selected the winning number combination from the back of a fortune after a night of Chinese takeout.

The winning ticket, which was purchased at Brandywine Liquors on Naamans Road in Wilmington, matched all five white numbers except the red POWERBALL® number to win a $100,000 prize. Since the gentleman purchased a $1 Power Play® multiplier, his winnings were five-times the prize.

Delaware Lottery Offers Players Relief at the Pump!

Congratulations to our two April PLAY 4 “It's a Gas” contest winners– Linda Ciach of Elsmere and Lemuel Scott of Harrington! They each won a $400 gas card courtesy of the Delaware Lottery. Playing on the theme of “four,” for the PLAY 4 promotion, the Lottery offered players, during the fourth month of the year (April), a chance to win $400 worth of gas and other prizes centered around the number four by sending in their non-winning PLAY 4 tickets for entry in a drawing.

Smyrna Woman Wins $82,000 MULTI-WIN LOTTO Jackpot

A 74-year-old Smyrna woman claimed the $82,000 MULTI-WIN LOTTO jackpot from the Wednesday, May 4, 2005, drawing on Friday, May 6. The winner was awarded a check for $61,516.50 which represents her $82,022 prize minus federal taxes.

The central Delaware native purchased her Quick Pick MULTI-WIN LOTTO ticket at Smyrna Liquors in Smyrna. “The first person I told was my daughter–I couldn't believe it,” said the excited mother of three.

Because the MULTI-WIN LOTTO game offers players a unique play style, the winner not only won the jackpot of $82,000, but she also won an additional $22. She won both ways on one ticket by matching six numbers across one line for the jackpot win and eight numbers among all three lines for $20. She also won a base prize of $2 on a separate game by matching three numbers straight across one line.

As of May 11, 2005, there have been more than 322,030 total MULTI-WIN LOTTO winners–congratulations to you all!

New MULTI-WIN LOTTO gets first jackpot winner

Two months following the debut of MULTI-WIN LOTTO, a retired woman from Hockessin is the first to claim a winning jackpot ticket for the new game worth $94,000. She received a check for $70,500 which represents her $94,000 jackpot prize minus federal taxes withheld.

Her winning ticket matched all six drawn numbers across one row. The winning ticket was the result of a Quick Pick sold at the Pathmark located on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington. The winner has won several times with other Delaware Lottery games but her MULTI-WIN LOTTO prize was the biggest. Congratulations to the other winners for this drawing. In addition to the one winning jackpot ticket, nine tickets were sold that matched five of the six numbers drawn to win a $500 prize, and 398 tickets were sold with four of the six match numbers worth a $25 win.

Three $100,000 POWERBALL® PRIZES in one drawing

Three is great company when you are a Delaware Lottery winner! Three winning POWERBALL® tickets from the Wednesday March 30, 2005 drawing have been claimed at the Delaware Lottery Office in Dover.

One ticket was claimed by a woman, from Georgetown, who purchased her ticket from a Georgetown area Pep-Up store. A 25-year-old Dover woman purchased her winning ticket at the Shore Stop on Rt. 8 in Dover. And last, but certainly not least, a 31-year old New Castle man purchased his winning ticket at the Boxwood Books, News and Tobacco on Maryland Avenue in Wilmington. Each winner received a check for $75,000 which represents his $100,000 prize minus federal taxes.

Fact: As of the March 30, 2005 drawing, Delaware has had 217 $100,000 winners, who matched five of six white numbers, with the exception of the red POWERBALL® since the game started back in 1992.

$7,785,490 LOTTO jackpot winner claims prize!

The suspense is over…On March 28, 2005, two months after the January 26, 2005, final LOTTO drawing, a 55-year old Sussex County man came forward with the sole $7,785,490 winning ticket. The man, a frequent Lottery games player, was presented with a check for $5,839,117.50 after taxes by the Delaware Lottery in Dover. The final LOTTO jackpot was the largest cash prize awarded in the game's 22-year history. In addition to the one jackpot winning ticket, there were 48 tickets sold that matched five of the six numbers, representing a $500 prize, and 1,951 tickets sold that matched four of the six numbers, earning a $25 prize for the ticket holders.

Linda Boyle, of Millsboro, Delaware is having a fantastic spin with luck lately. Boyle, 38-years-old, has won a host of prizes including a trip to the Grammies in California, Delaware Lottery TABASCO‚ HOT CASH second-chance drawing prize package this past Fall, and a Betty Boop prize package in the Spring of 2003. Boyle's latest win was the grand-prize of the WHEEL OF FORTUNE‚ Instant Game second-chance drawing. She won a four-day, three-night trip for two to Hollywood, California, including airfare, hotel, $1,000 in spending money, two seating passes to a taping of the Wheel of Fortune TV game show and an audition for a chance to become a contestant on the Wheel of Fortune television game show.
