$10,000 winning MEGA MILLIONS® ticket purchased in Millsboro
Dover, DE — Maya Potter, a 23-year-old woman from Ocean View, claimed a $10,000 prize from the MEGA MILLIONS® drawing on September 30, 2024. The winning ticket was purchased at BJ’s Wholesale Club #197 in Millsboro.
Ms. Potter, a Delaware native and student, has been playing the Delaware Lottery since she turned 21. Typically, she buys two tickets at a time, alternating between POWERBALL® and MEGA MILLIONS®. She expressed how blessed she feels to have won this amount, noting that she has never experienced anything like it before.
When Ms. Potter checked her numbers, she was in disbelief as she saw all the numbers matching. She initially thought she might be misreading the results. Although she was just one number away from the jackpot, she remains grateful for her win. The first person she shared the exciting news with was her mother. Looking ahead, she plans to continue playing occasionally for fun, with hopes of hitting the jackpot next time.

The winning numbers from the September 10, 2024 drawing were 01, 02, 16, 24 and 66. The MEGABALL® number was 06 and the MEGAPLIER® number was 4X.
MEGA MILLIONS® drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 PM EST. MEGA MILLIONS® costs $2 per game. MEGA MILLIONS® with Megaplier® costs $3 per game.
The woman claimed her prize from Lottery Headquarters on September 30, 2024.
