Finalists announced for POWERBALL® FIRST MILLIONAIRE OF THE YEAR® promotion
Dover, DE — The five finalists who will be competing for a $1,000,000 grand prize during this year’s broadcast of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024” have been announced. Each finalist was randomly selected after entering the POWERBALL® FIRST MILLIONAIRE OF THE YEAR® promotion through one of 23 participating U.S. lotteries.
The lotteries that participated in this year’s promotion include Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana (Hoosier), Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virgin Islands, and Washington D.C.
The five national finalists include:
- Wallace Finton, Rhode Island
- Lora-Lee Casady, Idaho
- Pamela Bradshaw, North Carolina
- Maire Kelly Joyce, New York
- Tracy Lacobie-Goeddel, Georgia
In addition to the five national finalists, the Delaware Lottery randomly selected 10 Delaware residents as semi-finalists who each received $500 in cash and spinner luggage.
The Delaware semi-finalists include:

- Geraldine Yount, Bethany Beach
- Catherine Ingle, Dagsboro
- George Mackie, New Castle
- Eric Hughes, Wilmington

- Denise Roberts, Laurel
“Congratulations to our 10 Delaware semi-finalists that won $500 in cash and new spinner luggage,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “It would have been great to see a Delaware resident selected as a national finalist, but we are glad we could offer our players a second chance to win through this exciting promotion.”
“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” will be televised live on ABC on Sunday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. The POWERBALL® FIRST MILLIONAIRE OF THE YEAR® drawing will be held just after midnight on January 1, 2024.
About POWERBALL®:
POWERBALL® is a multi-state drawing game with jackpots starting at $20 million. Other cash prizes range from $4 to $1 million. POWERBALL® costs $2 per game. Players can add the Power Play® option to multiply non-jackpot prizes for an additional $1. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.8.
