Newark woman wins $100,000 playing POWERBALL®
Dover, DE — A 40-year-old house keeper from Newark purchased one ticket for the May 30th POWERBALL® drawing while visiting Wawa #868 on Ogletown-Stanton Road. That single ticket would soon provide quite a surprise for the lucky player. When she checked her ticket, the woman quickly realized she was a $100,000 winner, having matched four white balls and the POWERBALL® in addition to playing the Power Play® 2X multiplier.
“Another Draw Games player claimed a $100,000 POWERBALL® prize only two weeks ago,” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “Congratulations to this lucky player on being the latest six-figure winner.”
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said she has been playing the Delaware Lottery for about two years. “I like the anticipation of Draw Games,” the woman said. “It’s exciting to wait and see if you’re a winner.” She enjoys POWERBALL® in particular and prefers to use Quick Pick to select her numbers.
The woman said she celebrated her $100,000 win with her boyfriend, and plans to put the prize money into savings for now.
POWERBALL® drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights at 11:00PM EST. Tickets can be purchased until 9:45PM EST on the day of the drawing.
The winning numbers from the May 30th drawing were 27, 28, 51, 68 and 69. The POWERBALL® number was 22, and the Power Play number was 2X.
The woman claimed her prize from Lottery Headquarters on November 3, 2022.
