$25,000 a year for life LUCKY FOR LIFE® prize won in Wilmington
Dover, DE — A 27-year-old registered nurse from Nottingham, Maryland has won $25,000 a year for life after matching five numbers in the August 1, 2022 LUCKY FOR LIFE® drawing. The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket from Jack’s Country Maid Deli in Wilmington.
“Congratulations to the lucky winner,” said Helene Keeley, Acting Director of the Delaware Lottery. “It’s great to see another Delaware player win a prize they’ll be able to keep enjoying, year after year.”
The woman said she started playing the Delaware Lottery two years ago. She usually purchases one LUCKY FOR LIFE® ticket at a time using Quick Pick to select her numbers. When the woman checked her numbers for this particular ticket, she was initially skeptical. “I thought it had to be a mistake,” the woman said. “I went back to the store just to have them double check, and that’s when it finally sank in.”
After overcoming the initial shock of winning $25,000 a year for life, the woman said she called her Mom right away to tell her the good news. She plans to use some of the prize money to pay off a few bills, and is still deciding what she’ll do with the rest of her winnings.
The winning numbers from the August 1, 2022 drawing were 01, 05, 14, 22 and 41. The LUCKY BALL® number was 15. LUCKY FOR LIFE® tickets cost $2 per game, and drawings are held every day at 10:38 PM EST.
The woman claimed her prize from Lottery Headquarters on August 8, 2022.
