POWERBALL® ticket sold in Wilmington brings $1,000,000 prize
Dover, DE — A 39-year-old nail technician from Springfield, Pennsylvania had a lucky feeling while visiting Adams Four Grocer, LLC in Wilmington, so he decided to purchase five POWERBALL® tickets for the July 30, 2022 drawing. He was completely shocked when one of those tickets matched all five white ball numbers, making him a $1,000,000 winner before taxes.
“It’s always great to see a Delaware POWERBALL® player win a seven-figure prize,” said Helene Keeley, Acting Director of the Delaware Lottery. “Congratulations to the lucky $1,000,000 winner.”
The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said he has been playing Delaware Lottery Draw Games for about two years. He particularly enjoys the excitement of POWERBALL® and prefers to select his numbers using Quick Pick, as was the case during this particular visit.
“I didn’t believe it at first,” the man said. “I scanned the ticket again, and that’s when I realized I really was a $1,000,000 winner. I called my wife right away and told her I had some exciting news.” He’s still deciding what he wants to do with his winnings.
The winning numbers from the July 30, 2022 drawing were 04, 17, 57, 58, and 68. The POWERBALL® number was 12, and the Power Play number was 3X.
POWERBALL® drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights at 11:00PM EST. Tickets can be purchased until 9:45PM EST on the day of the drawing.
The man claimed his prize from Lottery Headquarters on August 2, 2022.
