Wilmington woman purchases two $75,000 winning KENO® tickets
Dover, DE — A 45-year-old Wilmington woman won $150,000 playing KENO®, the largest KENO® win in Delaware since it was introduced in 2013. The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased the two 7-spot winning tickets at the Sunoco-A-Plus on Kirkwood Highway in Elsmere.
“I usually play two playslips, my favorite numbers and a set of random numbers,” the woman said. “On this trip, I accidentally played the random playslip twice. When I realized those random playslips matched seven numbers, I was shocked. When I took them to the cashier and found out what I had won, I was beyond excited.”
Each of her winning tickets ended up winning $75,000 for a total prize of $150,000.
“Before this win, our biggest KENO® win was $20,000,” said Vernon Kirk, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “It’s exciting to see such a big win, and incredible that she ended up purchasing two big winners.”
When asked what she planned to do with her winnings, the woman said she would like to purchase a new car and put the rest into savings.
