Wilmington man wins $100,000 playing MEGA CASH
Dover, DE — A 61-year-old man from Wilmington recently purchased four Instant Game tickets while visiting Avenue Wines & Spirits in Wilmington. One of those tickets was for the Instant Game MEGA CASH, which much to his surprise, ended up making him the game’s final $100,000 top prize winner.
The lifelong Delaware resident said he has been playing the Delaware Lottery for about 38 years and usually purchases six tickets at a time. He finds Instant Games particularly thrilling because he enjoys the fun of scratching each ticket and the anticipation of seeing what prizes he might reveal.
“Seeing a long-time Instant Game player bring home a big top prize is always a cause for celebration,” said Vernon Kirk, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “Congratulations to this lucky Delaware resident.”
The man said his wife was the first person to hear his exciting news. When asked what he was planning to do with his winnings, the man said he’ll put the money toward a new car. He added that this win doesn’t mark the end of his Instant Game playing days. “I just love scratching those tickets,” the man said. “I’ll be back!”
The man claimed his prize from Lottery Headquarters on December 2, 2021.
