Laurel man wins $250,000 playing DREAMIN’ XXL
Dover, DE — A 32-year-old maintenance worker from Laurel has claimed the final $250,000 top prize from the Instant Game DREAMIN’ XXL. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket from his local Royal Farms #171 in Laurel.
The man said he started playing the Delaware Lottery about seven years ago and usually purchases three Instant Game tickets at a time. On this particular visit, however, he decided to celebrate his payday by purchasing four Instant Game tickets instead. He was in for quite a shock when that small celebration ended up leading to a $250,000 win.
“I couldn’t believe what I was looking at after scratching the ticket,” the man said. “I had to call my wife right away to tell her the good news.” The man has won multiple prizes playing Instant Games in the past, but this is his biggest win to date.
“We love to see Instant Game players take home big top prizes like this one,” said Vernon Kirk, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “Congratulations to this lucky Delaware resident.”
When asked what he was planning to do with his winnings, the man said he intends to put the money toward paying off some bills.
The man claimed his prize from Lottery Headquarters on August 27, 2021.
