New Castle man wins $100,000 playing MEGA CA$H
Dover, DE — A 36-year-old construction worker from New Castle has claimed the first $100,000 top prize for the instant Game MEGA CA$H. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket while visiting Royal Farms #160 in Glasgow.
A lifelong Delaware resident, the man said he has been playing the Delaware Lottery for about ten years. He likes to purchase two Instant Game tickets whenever he feels like having some fun, and enjoys the thrill of winning.
“I scratched the ticket right outside of the store,” said the man. “I’ve had small wins here and there in the past, but I’ve never won a top prize, let alone one of this size!” The man said he called his best friend right away to share his exciting news.
“Seeing a Delaware Lottery player win big is always exciting, especially for a top prize,” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery. “Congratulations to this lucky Delaware resident!”
When asked what he was planning to do with his winnings, the man said he intends to make a down payment on a house and put the rest towards a vacation.
The man claimed his prize from Lottery Headquarters on April 8, 2021.
