Final $250,000 Money to Burn top prize claimed
Dover, DE — A 57-year-old Wilmington man purchased three Money to Burn Instant Game tickets from Delaware Park in Wilmington. One of those tickets ended up being the game’s final $250,000 top-prize winning ticket.
The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said when he initially scratched the bar code on the ticket and scanned it, the screen said to go to Delaware Lottery Headquarters to claim his prize.
“When I saw that message, I sat down and scratched the ticket,” the man said. “I was in shock! I always dreamed about winning the big one, and there it was. I was so shocked and excited.”
“This is now the third $250,000 Instant Game winner this year, and it’s only October,” said Vernon Kirk, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “It’s great to see Delaware Lottery players getting so many big wins.”
When asked what he was planning to do with his winnings, the man said he wanted to pay down his mortgage and put the rest in savings. “This is going to make such a big impact on my life,” the man said.
The man claimed his prize at Lottery Headquarters on October 30, 2019
