Smyrna woman starts weekend with $150,000 win
Dover, DE — A 68-year-old retired Smyrna woman purchased four Instant Game tickets from Cheswold News & Tobacco in Cheswold. One of the tickets she purchased was $150,000 FORTUNE, a ticket that ended up being one of the game’s $150,000 top-prize winners.
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said she has been playing the Lottery for about five years and enjoys purchasing four random Instant Game tickets when she plays.
“When I scratched off the winning numbers and saw that I had won, I had to go get my glasses to make sure I was reading it correctly,” the woman said. “I was at home in my kitchen and just couldn’t believe it! I feel incredibly blessed.”
“This is our second $150,000 Instant Game winner in just over a week,” said Vernon Kirk, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “On October 2nd, a New Castle man won $150,000 playing Bonus Payout.”
When asked what she was planning to do with her winnings, the woman said she plans to do some home improvement projects.
The woman claimed her prize at Lottery Headquarters on October 11, 2019.
