Claymont man gets $100,000 big win

Dover, DE — A 48-year-old Claymont man has claimed the last of two $100,000 top-prizes from the Instant Game Money Clip. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket from the Sunoco A-Plus in Claymont.

“This is a very exciting and big win,” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery. “We’re proud to offer Delaware Lottery Players with Instant Games that have six-figure top prizes, like Money Clip ($100,000), $150,000 Fortune, Bonus Payout ($150,000) and Money to Burn ($250,000).”

The man has been playing the Delaware Lottery for a few years and has won prizes of $500 and $1,000 in the past, but this was, by far, his biggest win yet.

“I couldn’t believe it,” the man said after he scratched and scanned his ticket before leaving the Sunoco A-Plus. “I was with my wife and we went back to the car and started celebrating this exciting win!”

When asked what he was planning to do with his winnings, the man said he plans to get some new furniture for his house and start planning a vacation.

The man claimed his prize from Lottery Headquarters on August 26, 2019.
