One of the $250 GRAND Top Prizes Won in Claymont

(DOVER, Del.) — A Philadelphia, PA man stopped in the Sunoco A Plus in Claymont and decided to purchase two $250 GRAND Instant Game tickets, one of which ended up being a $250,000 winner. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said he usually purchases two Instant Game tickets at a time, but he varies which games he plays.

The man, who works part-time in Delaware, typically buys Delaware Lottery tickets on his workday commute. “I scratched the ticket when I left the store, and thought I had won $25,” the man said. “I didn’t believe it until I went to the kiosk to check my ticket.”

The man, who also enjoys playing draw games like POWERBALL^® and MEGA MILLIONS^® said that this was the first time he had ever had a big win. When asked if this win would change his life, the man said, “Financially, yes, but it won’t change my day-to-day.”

“It’s very exciting to see such a big win from one of our Instant Games,” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery. “In fact, this is the second $250 GRAND top prize won this summer.” The first $250 GRAND top prize was claimed on June 26, 2018.

The man claimed his prize at Lottery Headquarters on September 6, 2018.
