A Part Time Job Leads To A $20,000 Pay Day
(DOVER, Del.) — George Ganat may have retired, be he hasn’t stopped working. The 75-year-old man works part-time at the Naamans Beverage Mart in Claymont, DE, where he purchased a winning Keno Ticket on December, 22.
“I used the birthdays of my wife, daughter, and three granddaughters,” Ganat replied when asked how he picked the winning combination.
Mr. Ganat moved to Delaware in 1970 and has been playing the Delaware Lottery regularly since 1981.
Ganat learned that he won as he was working in the front of the store. “I originally glanced and thought it was two thousand,” he said. Once he realized he had won $20,000, Ganat said, “I was shocked, and really pleased.”
When asked about his plans for the winnings, Ganat said he wants to buy a car for his granddaughter and pay his bills but first, “I’m going straight to the bank.”
He claimed his prize at Lottery Headquarters on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
