Two Players From New Jersey Each Take Home $50,000 After Correctly Picking All 15 Games Playing The Delaware Lottery’s Sports Lottery
(DOVER, Del.) — Just eight weeks into the Delaware Lottery’s pro football wagering season, two players from the Garden State correctly picked all 15 games playing the Delaware Lottery’s Sports Lottery $100,000 Parlay Card. Both players, who wish to remain anonymous, each wagered $5 and selected 15 games against the point spread. Since there were two winning tickets, the $100,000 prize was divided by two, and each player was awarded $50,000.
“There is a lot of momentum around Sports Lottery, and it’s exciting to know that the enthusiasm is crossing over from state to state,” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery. “We are attracting players from along the East Coast to Delaware, who are getting swept up in Sports Lottery fever. We want our players to continue to play and enjoy the game, but we want to remind them to play responsibly as well.”
One of the winners, a 37-year-old woman from West Deptford, New Jersey, watches NFL RedZone each week—which takes viewers from game to game, highlighting the most exciting plays. She eventually became familiar with the teams and their standings. She put her football skills to the test with the Delaware Lottery’s Sports Lottery $100,000 Parlay Card and matched all 15 games correctly. It was her largest win to date.
In addition, a 40-year-old man from Atlantic City, New Jersey, who is a regular Sports Lottery player, stayed up to watch the whole Monday night game to find out if he was a winner. He told Lottery officials that it was worth it to be “a little tired” at work the next day. This was his largest win to date.
The woman purchased her ticket from Tobacco Express on Naamans Road in Claymont, Delaware. The man purchased his ticket from Delaware Park in Wilmington, Delaware.
Pro Football wagering is available at Delaware Sports Lottery Retailers throughout the state and at three Sportsbooks locations: Delaware Park, Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, and Harrington Raceway & Casino.
