MEGA MILLIONS® Jackpot Rises to $390 Million
The Delaware Lottery Encourages the Community to Play Responsibly
(DOVER, DE) — This Tuesday, June 28, MEGA MILLIONS® players will have an opportunity to win the fourth-largest jackpot in MEGA MILLIONS® history. The new estimated annuity jackpot of $390 million was reached after the Friday, June 21 drawing. This is the largest prize offered in the MEGA MILLIONS® game since March 18, 2014, when two tickets shared a $414 million jackpot.
With no winner from Friday, a single winner could opt for a cash payout of $265 million. The Delaware Lottery joins lotteries in encouraging people to play responsibly by emphasizing that the odds of winning a MEGA MILLIONS® jackpot are one in 259 million.
“The closer this jackpot gets to making lottery history, the greater the excitement, allure and desire of people to play,” said Vernon Kirk, director of the Delaware Lottery. “With the number of ticket sales soaring, the Delaware Lottery reminds people to play wisely by keeping the game in perspective and only spending what they can afford.”
The winning numbers from Friday’s drawing were 11, 14, 54, 57 and 63, and the MEGA MILLIONS® Ball was 11. The jackpot has been rolling since it was last won in the state of Washington on March 8, 2016, at $157 million. Since that time, there have been 44 Match 5 winning tickets worth $1 million or more, and a total of $52.1 million winning tickets at all prize levels.
“By keeping those things in mind when jackpots reach these record-setting levels, we can make it a fun experience for lotteries and players across the country,” Kirk added.
