MULTI-WIN LOTTO Top Prize Hit; Winner Claims $146,100
(Dover, Del.)— (December 2, 2014) – A forty-four-year-old State of Delaware employee experienced the surprise of a lifetime the day after Thanksgiving. He returned to the 7-Eleven in Rehoboth Beach on Friday, November 28, where he purchased two MULTI-WIN LOTTO tickets earlier that week (Wednesday) to purchase a POWERBALL® ticket. Before buying his ticket, the man used the self-service scanner to check his Quick-Pick MULTI-WIN LOTTO tickets, and discovered his $146,100 top-prize win. MULTI-WIN-LOTTO is a $2 Delaware-only game drawn on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:58pm. There were a total of 3,232 winners from the drawing on November 26.
The Sussex County resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said he was shocked and thought, “what in the world?” He recalled experiencing a wave of nervousness knowing that he had to hang on to the ticket until Monday morning. “I didn’t even believe it fully until I received the actual check in my hands!” he said.
The winner claimed his $146,100 prize at Lottery headquarters in Dover on Monday, December 1. He told Lottery Officials that the most amount of money he has ever won playing the lottery (prior to that day) was $500. He said he will continue to play his favorite draw games and plans to put his winnings toward his retirement.
