POWERBALL® JACKPOT ROLLS TO $320 MILLION
The Delaware Lottery Reminds Players To Have Fun, But To Play Responsibly
Dover, DE - March 22, 2013 - With no winners having the lucky combination of 13, 14, 17, 43, 54, and a POWERBALL of 15 on Wednesday night, the POWERBALL jackpot rolled from $260 million to $320 million. The current $320 million jackpot is the sixth largest annuity jackpot in POWERBALL’s game history and the cash payout of $198.3 million ranks as the fourth largest cash jackpot in the history of the game.
The Delaware Lottery joins other lotteries across the country in support of responsible play by emphasizing that the odds of winning a jackpot prize are 1-in-175 million and player’s should only spend what they can personally afford.
“Have fun, but play wisely by being financially conscientious,” said Delaware Lottery Director Vernon Kirk. “The Delaware Lottery supports and encourages all Lottery players to play responsibly and to take their own personal finances into consideration when purchasing Lottery tickets.”
Since changing price points from $1 to $2, POWERBALL’s jackpots have continued to swell. Just last November POWERBALL’s jackpot reached $325 million that rolled to the game’s record breaking $587.5 million annuity jackpot (November 28) with a cash payout of $384.7 million. The Delaware Lottery saw several big winners as a result. A gentleman and woman from Georgetown and Claymont, DE respectively, both took home $10,000 from the record-breaking jackpot. In addition, nine co-workers each split $10,000.
