WOMAN
LEARNS OF $80,000 MULTI-WIN LOTTO JACKPOT WIN
DURING QUICK ROUTINE ERRAND
Dover, DE -- A quick stop for some
lip balm proved to be time well spent after a Wilmington woman
used the Quick Check following her purchase to learn she had
won the October 28, 2005 MULTI-WIN LOTTO drawing. She claimed
her MULTI-WIN LOTTO top prize worth $80,000 yesterday afternoon
at the Delaware Lottery Office in Dover. The winner received
a check for $60,078 which represents her prize minus federal
withholding taxes. To date, the MULTI-WIN LOTTO game has had
more than 750,000 winners who have won prizes totaling over
$3.7 million.
The 44-year old woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous,
purchased her winning ticket at TJ's Food Mart at the intersection
of Marsh Rd. and Wilson Rd. in Wilmington. The woman checked
her ticket at a Lottery Retailer on Friday night, and claimed
her prize yesterday. "We were screaming and yelling 'woo
hoo' in the store," she added. Still shocked, the winner
told Lottery Officials she has no plans yet for the prize
money and absolutely plans to continue playing MULTI-WIN LOTTO
in the future.
Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery
has contributed more than
$2.1 billion to the state's General Fund to help finance needed
