"SUMMER
FUN" WINNER FROM PROMOTION IN NEWARK
ANNOUNCED BY THE DELAWARE LOTTERY
Dover, DE -- Rachel Vickers of
Dover has received a $1,000 cash grand prize from the Delaware
Lottery as a part of a live event promotion in Newark during
the month of September. Participants entered their non-winning
SUMMER FUN tickets into a second-chance drawing at the end
of the month for $1,000, which was awarded to Vickers yesterday.
The Delaware Lottery held weekly events every Thursday in
September in Newark at Klondike Kate's with WRDX-FM. These
events included live radio broadcasts with popular radio personalities,
Instant Game ticket giveaways and a chance to enter non-winning
tickets in a drawing for a $1,000 grand prize. The winning
name was announced during a live on-air broadcast yesterday
morning. During the events, Lottery talent, comedian Geno
Bisconte, entertained patrons with Lottery trivia and t-shirt
giveaways. Participants at the events were also given the
opportunity to have their picture taken with friends and received
a souvenir photo and frame card to take home with them that
night.
"The live event promotions are an opportunity for the
Delaware Lottery to identify with another group of players
in their own environment," said Brian Peters, deputy
director of sales and marketing for the Delaware Lottery.
"They provide a great chance for players to have fun
and get a second-chance at winning a $1,000 cash prize while
attending events at various popular venues statewide."
The Delaware Lottery will hold events every Friday during
the month of October at Kelly's Logan House in Wilmington
with WJBR-FM. The Lottery can also be spotted at some of the
First State's well-known local events like the Apple Scrapple
Festival in Bridgeville, World Championship Punkin Chunkin
in Millsboro, and all remaining home University of Delaware
Football games. Additional information is available on the
Delaware Lottery website, www.delottery.com.
Since the start of operations in
1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed more than $2.1
billion to the state's General Fund to help finance needed
state services that benefit everyone in Delaware. The Lottery
offers a variety of games: POWERBALL®, MULTI-WIN LOTTO,
PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games.
