MULTI-WIN
LOTTO WINNER CLAIMS $70,008 JACKPOT PRIZE
FROM DELAWARE LOTTERY OFFICE
Dover, DE -- The day following
the September 21st MULTI-WIN LOTTO drawing, a 52-year-old
woman, from Chesapeake City, Md., claimed her jackpot prize
worth $70,008 at the Delaware Lottery Office in Dover. The
winner received a check for $52,506 which represents her prize
minus federal withholding taxes.
The woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, and her husband
purchased the winning ticket at C&C Country Maid located
at University Plaza in Newark. As a MULTI-WIN LOTTO player
since the game's introduction in late January, she was surprised
to learn of her win after she checked the winning numbers
in the newspaper. She then called her husband who did not
believe that they had, in fact, won the jackpot. Still in
shock, the winner told Lottery Officials they have no plans
yet for their prize money.
Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery
has contributed more than $2.1 billion to the state's General
Fund to help finance needed state services that benefit everyone
in Delaware. The Lottery offers a variety of games: POWERBALL®,
MULTI-WIN LOTTO, PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games.
