POWERBALL PRIZE SURPASSES DELAWARE RECORD
Dover, DE --- Linda Ciach of Elsmere
and Lemuel Scott of Harrington each won a $400 gas card courtesy
of the Delaware Lottery. The promotion was extended to players
to get them pumped about the PLAY 4 game. Playing on the theme
of "four," the Lottery offered players, during the
fourth month of the year (April), a chance to win $400 worth
of gas, and other prizes centered around the number four by
sending in their non-winning PLAY 4 tickets for entry in a
drawing.
The month-long promotion included in-store events on the fourth
day of the week (Thursday) at area Lottery retail locations,
where players enjoyed prizes and discounts on in-store products,
as well as free PLAY 4 tickets. Radio stations Eagle 97.7,
Cool 101.3 and KISS 101.7 conducted contests giving players
a chance to win prizes by correctly naming four songs played
at 4p.m. each day and held live broadcasts at the Royal Farms
in Dover and Highs in Rehoboth Beach during the promotion
month.
"We always try to keep our finger on the pulse of our
players," said Brian Peters, Deputy Director Sales &
Marketing, Delaware Lottery, "by offering them prizes
and games that are relevant to their lifestyle." There
were a total of 98 winners for the April PLAY 4 contest, including
the two Exxon/Mobile gas card winners. The Lottery plans to
keep players interested this summer by offering promotions
and prizes each month.
Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery
has contributed more than
$1.8 billion to the state's General Fund to help finance needed
state services that benefit everyone in Delaware. The Lottery
offers a variety of games: POWERBALL®, MULTI-WIN LOTTO,
PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games.
