2005 Press Releases
January 26, 2005DELAWARE LOTTO JACKPOT ESTIMATE INCREASED TO $7.7 MILLION FOR FINAL DRAWING TONIGHT
Dover, DE -- Delaware Lottery officials
report record sales for tonight’s final LOTTO drawing.
As a result, Lottery officials are expecting the final jackpot
to reach an estimated $7.7 million for the drawing in Dover
at 7:57 p.m. tonight.
The entire jackpot amount will be awarded this evening to
LOTTO ticket holders. In the event there is no jackpot winner
matching six out of the 38 possible numbers drawn tonight,
the full amount of the jackpot will be distributed to winning
ticket holders matching five of the six or four of the six
numbers drawn.
"There is a great deal of excitement across the state
today regarding tonight’s LOTTO jackpot and ticket sales
are very brisk," says Wayne Lemons, director of the Delaware
Lottery. "Tonight's LOTTO jackpot giveaway has caught
the attention of long-time players and those trying the game
because of the size of the prize," Lemons noted.
In the event there is no jackpot winner, players winning at
the prize level for matching five of the six numbers drawn
will equally share 75 percent of the advertised jackpot amount.
Players winning at the prize level for matching four of six
numbers selected will equally share the remaining 25 percent
of the advertised jackpot amount. Prize levels for matching
five of six and four of six numbers will not increase if there
is a winner of the estimated $7.7 million jackpot tonight.
Lemons says given the size of the jackpot players should still
play responsibly -- without spending more than they can afford.
Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery
