RECORD
WEEK OF NET PROCEEDS ANNOUNCED FOR THE DELAWARE VIDEO LOTTERY
DOVER, DE -- According to officials
of the Delaware Lottery, the final week of December, 2004
set an all-time record for Video Lottery proceeds-in excess
of $14 million for one week. The previous one-week record
for Video Lottery proceeds was slightly more than $13 million
set in April, 2002.
"We have seen a steady growth recently in the revenues
generated by Video Lottery operations in the state,"
said Don Johnson, deputy director for the Delaware Video Lottery.
"Much of this increase can be attributed to the efforts
of the Lottery Office and the state's racinos responding to
the requests of our patrons to provide a customer-friendly
atmosphere. This new one-week total is a further indication
of the record-setting pace we are experiencing in fiscal year
2005, which ends in June."
Since its start, the Delaware Video Lottery has contributed
more than $1 billion to the General Fund.
