ELLENDALE
MAN WINS 50" PLASMA TV
DOVER, DE -- Frank Daniels of Ellendale
claimed a 50" Plasma TV - the grand prize in the Delaware
Lottery PRIME TIME TV CASHWORDS Instant Game - Friday, March
26 at the Lottery offices. His name was drawn from a pool
of 50 first prize winners, all of whom were awarded a DVD
player. Both the first and grand prize drawings were held
Monday, March 22.
A driver for Allen Family Foods, Daniels has three daughters
and 10 grandchildren. He said he sent in "quite a few"
tickets for the second-chance drawing. A regular Lottery player,
Daniels buys his PLAY 3 and PLAY 4 tickets and the occasional
POWERBALL® or LOTTO ticket at the De-Lux Dairy Market
in Ellendale.
When he heard the message on his answering machine asking
him to contact the Lottery, his first thought was that he
had won a trip to Las Vegas to appear on the Powerball®
Instant Millionaire TV Game Show. Once he found out about
his new 50" Plasma TV, the first person he shared the
good news with was his mother. "She didn't believe me
at first," Daniels said, "so I told her again and
she finally believed me."
The PRIMETIME TV CASHWORDS Instant Game went on sale at nearly
500 Delaware Lottery Retailers in October 2003 and is scheduled
to close May 2, 2004. Ticket holders have until May 2, 2005
to claim their prizes. One of the four $2,500 top cash prizes
in the game remains unclaimed.
Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery
has contributed more than $1.7 billion to the state's General
Fund to help finance needed state services that benefit everyone
in Delaware. The Lottery offers a variety of games: POWERBALL®,
LOTTO, PLAY 3 and PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games.
