LOTTERY PROMOTION NETS TWO END-OF-SUMMER WINNERS
DOVER, DE-How would you like to end the summer with an extra $1,000? Two lucky winners just did, thanks to the Delaware Lottery's COOL CASH Instant Game Summer Promotion. Tracey Whaley of Laurel, Del. and Monica Wells of Landenburg, Pa. each won $1,000 cash during second-chance drawings that wrapped up the Lottery's summer promotional events.
"Using Lottery trivia and giving away free Instant Game tickets gave us a fun way to educate people about our organization," said Brian Peters, Delaware Lottery Marketing Director. "These events also gave participants a free chance to play, and introduced some non-players to the entertainment value of Instant Games. Of course, we're delighted for our two second chance prize winners who ended the summer with an extra $1,000."
The promotions were held from July 27 to August 31 at Kahunaville in Wilmington and at the Starboard in Dewey Beach, in conjunction with local radio stations WSTW-FM and WJNE-FM. Lottery spokesman Geno Bisconte, a.k.a. "Mr. Lottery," gave away COOL CASH Instant Game tickets and "Go Scratch" t-shirts to participants who provided correct answers to Lottery trivia questions. COOL CASH Instant Game tickets offer the chance to win up to $1,000 instantly. Non-winning tickets were collected at the events and entered in the second-chance drawings. Each radio station selected one winner-WJNE picked Whaley on August 27 and WSTW picked Wells on September 4 for the "Cool Grand" $1,000 cash prizes.
A variety of Delaware Lottery Instant Games are available at more than 400 Retailers throughout the state. Tickets cost $1, $2 and $5.
