DELAWARE LOTTERY WINNERS OF AUGUST 1 AND AUGUST 11 ALL CASH LOTTO JACKPOTS CLAIM $336,000 AND $196,000 PRIZES

 

DOVER, Del. Two winners of recent Delaware Lottery All Cash Lotto jackpots claimed their cash prizes Thursday (August 17) at the Lottery Office in Dover.  

The two who wish to remain anonymous, were an 86-year-old Philadelphia man who won the August 1 jackpot worth $336,000 and a 74-year-old Claymont man who won the August 11 $196,000 jackpot. The Philadelphia winner received $241,920 representing his $336,000 prize minus $94,080 withheld for federal taxes; and the Claymont man took home $141,120 after $54,880 was withheld for federal taxes from his $196,000 jackpot. 

 According to the Philadelphia man, his son-in-law purchased the winning Quick Pick ticket at the Shop Rite store in the Brandywine Commons, North Wilmington.  The winner said he found out he had won when his son-in-law checked the winning numbers on the Delaware Lottery's Web site (www.delottery.com). 

 I've been in complete shock since I found out," the Philadelphia winner commented.  "I think I still am!"  Commenting on his plans for the prize money, the man said, "I'd like to pay off some bills, travel and of course, share some of the money with my family."

 The Claymont man said he selected his own numbers when he purchased his winning ticket at the Delaware News Center in Wilmington.   The man said he learned he had won when he checked the winning numbers in the newspaper.

 "Both my wife and I were completely surprised," the Claymont man said.  "We couldn't  wait to come in and collect our prize money!"  He said while he does not have definite plans for using the prize money, "I'd like to share it with my family and friends." 

Both men told Lottery officials that they play All Cash Lotto often and that they plan to continue to play the Lottery games in the future. 

Tickets for All Cash Lotto cost $1 and are available at more than 300 Delaware Lottery On-line Retailers.   All Cash Lotto Jackpot drawings are now held Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.  The Friday, August 18 jackpot has an all cash value of $171,000.
