IT’S GAME TIME IN THE FIRST STATE
Dover, DE - August 1, 2013 - It’s game time in the State of Delaware. With less than one week to go before the start of the Pro Football preseason (Thursday, August 8) the Delaware Sports Lottery announces it will kick off its 2013 season with more than double the amount of Sports Lottery Retailer locations to offer Pro Football wagering. Preseason Pro Football wagering is scheduled to begin Wednesday, August 7.
In addition to Delaware’s Sportsbook locations at its three racetrack casinos, more than 60 retailers have signed on for the 2013 – 2014 season to offer Pro Football wagering to adults 21 and older. The 60-plus Sports Lottery Retail locations include select restaurants, pubs and existing Lottery agents throughout the state.
“With more than double the Sports Lottery locations, it’s shaping up to be a very exciting year,” said Delaware Lottery Director Vernon Kirk. “Based on the success and demand of Sports Lottery last year, we’ve seen a tremendous growth and interest from new as well as existing retailers. We continue to add Sports Lottery Retailers daily and players enjoy the fact that they can now place their wagers in some of the very same locations where they regularly watch their favorite sports teams,” said Kirk.
Many of the new Sports Lottery locations are in Kent and Sussex counties. “We were very successful this year at filling in the gaps in towns and areas where Retailers were scarce making it much more convenient for our players to have access to place their wagers,” said Kirk.
More Sports Lottery locations are not the only thing new for the 2013 season. Sports Lottery will offer a Totals (Over/Under) Wager. This wager will not be available during the preseason, but will be offered during Pro Football regular season. The Half-Point, Teaser and Super Teaser Parlay Cards will carry all totals. The $100,000 Parlay Card will have select totals on occasion. There is not a Totals-Only Card.
