SOME LIKE IT HOT; LEAH ROTONDO LIKES HER COOL $1,000
DOVER, DE -- Leah Rotondo, a 24-year
old veterinary technician from Newark, Del., won $1,000 cash in
a second-chance drawing that wrapped up the Delaware Lottery's recent
promotion at McGlynn's Pub and Deer Park Tavern in Newark. She was
one of hundreds of club patrons who received free SOME LIKE IT HOT!
Instant Game tickets, photos with their friends and Lottery premiums
during the promotion. Non-winning tickets were eligible for the
second-chance drawing held by radio partner WSTW-FM.
"This is our third year for these promotions, and every year
they get bigger and better," said Brian Peters, Delaware Lottery
Marketing Director. "They're popular with the patrons, and
we like them because they give participants a free chance to play
while introducing some non-players to the entertainment value of
Instant Games. And of course, we're delighted for our winner."
Rotondo was surprised when she found out she was the winner. "You've
got to be kidding me," she said. While not a regular Lottery
player previously, she plans to play now. Her plans for the $1,000?
"I'm going to pay bills with half and spend the other half
on me," she said.
The promotions, held in conjunction with WSTW-FM, ran on Tuesday
nights: June 10 at McGlynn's Pub and June 17 to July 1 at Deer Park
Tavern. Delaware Lottery staffers gave away SOME LIKE IT HOT! Instant
Game tickets and other Lottery premiums to participants who provided
correct answers to Lottery trivia questions. SOME LIKE IT HOT! Instant
Game tickets offer the chance to win up to $1,000 instantly. Non-winning
tickets collected at the events were entered in the second-chance
drawing for a $1,000 cash prize. Patrons also received free framed
digital photographs of themselves enjoying a night out with their
