UNCLAIMED CASH WAITS FOR LUCKY LOTTERY PLAYER
$210,000 in prizes will be lost if winners do not come forward
Dover, DE -- A lucky Delaware Lottery player is sitting on a $200,000
POWERBALL® prize nearly one year after hitting it big, but their time
to claim the cash is quickly running out. The winning ticket was purchased
at the 7-Eleven located in New Castle at 1501 DuPont Hwy., for the November
24, 2007 drawing of last year. A $10,000 POWERBALL® prize also remains
unclaimed from a November 10, 2007 drawing nearly one year after purchase
at the Jack's Country Maid Deli located in Wilmington at 5605 Kirkwood
Hwy. - and that ticketholder will have to act even more quickly.
"The Delaware Lottery enjoys handing out jackpots of all sizes,
and it's especially nice to write out large checks to our players,"
said Wayne Lemons, Director, Delaware Lottery. "We'd like nothing
more than to have the winner or winners of both these prizes step forward,
but we can not hold the prizes indefinitely."
With a number of winners over the summer, as well as the annual DELAWARE
RAFFLE approaching, the Lottery has been very busy this year.
The Delaware Lottery reminds players that prizes must be claimed within
one year from the date of the drawing. Players are invited to check the
official unclaimed prizes page of the
Delaware Lottery web site to see whether they are holding a winner.
Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed
more than $2.8 billion to the state's General Fund to help finance needed
state services that benefit everyone in Delaware. The Lottery offers a
variety of games: POWERBALL®, HOT LOTTO®, MULTI-WIN LOTTO, PLAY
3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games. Delaware Lottery game and promotional
details are available at delottery.com, at licensed retailers, and from
the Lottery's office in Dover.
