LOTTERY PLAYERS GIVE THANKS FOR NOVEMBER WINS Delaware Raffle promises another big holiday winner
Dover, DE -- The Delaware Lottery handed out a hefty hunk of change during November. With six POWERBALL winners claiming prizes of $10,000 or more and nine Instant Game top-prize winners, there were many Lottery players giving thanks.
Wilmington resident James Green kicked off the month with a $10,000 POWERBALL prize from the Nov. 3 drawing, followed by a Kent County man's $200,000 Nov. 10 hit. Two players who wished to remain anonymous each won $10,000 in Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 drawings, while Diego Gonzalez and Raymond Shearer both pocketed $10,000 thanks to respective Nov. 24 and Nov. 28 POWERBALL wins.
"November was an excellent month to play the Delaware Lottery," said Wayne Lemons, Delaware Lottery Director. "We've already seen several big wins this December as well, and with the Delaware Raffle set to award $250,000 on New Year's Eve another big prize is right around the corner."
Delaware Lottery Instant Game players were equally lucky in November, claiming $252,000 in prizes $100 and above. Ardentown resident Jackie Nicklas's $50,000 Super Cash Spectacular prize and an anonymous winner's $25,000 Money Maker win were among the biggest paydays.
The Lottery also drew a second-chance winner Nov. 8 for the officially-licensed NASCAR Instant Game prize. The fortunate 51-year-old New Castle County woman entered her originally non-winning ticket through the Lottery's website, www.delottery.com, winning a trip to a 2008 NASCAR sanctioned race as part of a complete prize package. Licensing rights were obtained through MDI Entertainment, LLC.
Meanwhile approximately 47,000 Delaware Raffle tickets remain as the Dec. 31 drawing date inches closer.
"Our popular Raffle game offers some of the best odds you'll ever find at turning $10 into a quarter of a million dollars," said Lemons. "We're glad to help Delaware Lottery players ring in a happy New Year."
During the month of November, overall POWERBALL drawings yielded 72,556 winners. There were also 208,599 instant game winners last month.
The Delaware Lottery reminds players that prizes must be claimed within one year from the date of the drawing.
Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed more than $2.6 billion to the state's General Fund to help finance needed state services that benefit everyone in Delaware. The Lottery offers a variety of games: POWERBALL, MULTI-WIN LOTTO, PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games.
