Newark man wins $248,000 playing MULTI-WIN LOTTO®

Dover, DE — A 69-year-old retired man from Newark, who wished to remain anonymous, recently purchased a MULTI-WIN LOTTO® ticket while visiting Shop Rite on Chestnut Hill Plaza in Newark. When checking his ticket, the man was shocked to discover he matched all six numbers, making him $248,000 winner before taxes.

A lifelong Delaware resident, the man said he has enjoyed playing the Delaware Lottery since 2002. While this is not his first win, it is his largest winning to date. The man doesn’t follow a special method when purchasing tickets but sometimes plays his own personal numbers. For this win, he used Quick Pick. “I couldn’t believe it when I checked my ticket,” the man said. “I have never won a prize this large before.” When asked what he intended to do with his winnings, the man said he would put the money towards bills.

“It’s great to see a longtime MULTI-WIN LOTTO® fan take home a six-figure top prize.” said Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery. “Congratulations to this lucky player.”

With drawings every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and top prizes starting at $50,000, there are plenty of chances to win big every week with MULTI-WIN LOTTO®.

The winning numbers from the January 12, 2024 drawing were 03, 09, 12, 13, 22 and 33.

The man claimed his prize from Lottery Headquarters on January 16, 2024.
